Find end of Fambridge Rd, Rochford, SS4 3LD (51.631670, 0.678141). Follow footpath to sea wall beside river. Facing water turn left/west and walk or paddle 1 mile to the creek/footpath crossing.

Find Stairs Rd, Great Wakering, Rochford, SS3 0AX, (51.548520, 0.839642). The road is usually closed to the public by military mid week so check access with Range Control Office on 01702 383211 for weekend access.
