Extremely rare Norfolk seascape by Britain’s most prolific and important war artist/journalist.

Watercolour on paper, Frank E Beresford. The Point, Blakeney.

Beresford (1881-1967) was once considered an artist of national importance, but rarely painted seascapes, choosing instead to record significant events and individuals in political and military life.

He most famously painted The Vigil of the Princes, the occasion when the four  sons of George V guarded their father’s coffin in Westminster Hall. His painting was bought by Queen Mary to give to her son, Edward VIII.

A certificate of authenticity is included, with an accompanying booklet on The Stephen Neale Art Collection (AF), as well as an exclusive, detailed biography of Frank E Beresford's work and life.
