Philip (1816-1885) was considered Cornwall's greatest ever watercolourist. Most of his paintings feature Devon and Cornwall.

Philip was from Falmouth, Cornwall. He exhibited from 1846 to 1885. He was described by a Times art critic as ″...the veteran, and most distinguished, coast painter of which Cornwall can boast.″

He became an Associate of NWS in 1856 and a full member in 1863. He exhibited a total of 347 works at Society exhibitions. His works are held at Falmouth; Maidstone; Ulster; Brighton & Hove Museums.

A certificate of authenticity is included. Also included for free is an exclusive accompanying booklet on The Stephen Neale Art Collection, as well a short biography of James George Philip.
